Cruelty Free

What does cruelty free really mean? Many know it as “(cosmetic or other product) developed without being tested on animals.” We carefully source our ingredients from reputable sources that do not test on animals. Also, thanks to our many friends, family, and volunteers we can eliminate animal testing and receive better feedback than what Fido can give. This honest feedback is what helps makes our products so great!

Going beyond animal testing, we strive for the humane treatment of animals which is why we opt for grass fed tallow. Once the cattle are weaned from their mother’s milk, they are grass fed and grass finished – never grain fed or forced to eat GMO food. No crates or cages were ever used to house the animals, animals were provided an enriched environment with outdoor access, plenty of pasture to roam, as well as cared for by the same family from birth until death. These cattle have never been fed hormones or antibiotics. While some companies may continuously feed cattle antibiotics and hormones in their diet, we choose to work with farmers who strive for healthy cattle – not those constantly combating disease. Even in death, test results show no evidence of adrenaline-rush damage (an immediate stress indicator) in the meat tissue after slaughter proving an effective, pain-free slaughter. Besides the animals we work with directly, we also strive to ensure the humane treatment of animals that are indirectly affected by our actions. This means we source organic oils so we do not cause collapse of habitations, imbalanced ecosystems, or health-risks to animals from the use of pesticides or GMO crops.
